Since the Brain board is not based on a common
personal computer system but is designed to be an overbuilt module for NEBS and
NEMA compliance in harsh and rugged environments. Overall, the Brain board
will use the data available from its sensors and incoming WITS data and drive the internal controllers
so that vacuum and flow are always monitored and adjusted for optimum
performance.

COMPLETE BLOODHOUND™ SYSTEM:
The Bloodhound™
is composed of non-dispersive infrared detectors, electrochemical
sensors, a proprietary chromatograph, medical grade vacuum pumps, aircraft
quality flow meters, an uninterruptible power system, wireless data modem,
Ethernet card and
the iBall Instruments digital processing system Brain board housed in a
rugged plastic Pelican case.
The iBall Instruments Bloodhound™ wireless
gas detection equipment has the capability to detect from 0 to 10,000 Gas units
instantly. This translates from 0 to 100% pure methane concentrations.
Calibration is performed using National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
traceable calibration gasses.
Calibration points include, 2.5%, and 100% pure methane. Complete immunity to
saturation in the presence high concentrations of both light and heavy
hydrocarbon gasses precludes the necessity of re-calibration or zero
referencing.
The briefcase-sized design also has the ability to pull the sample apart using
our proprietary integrated gas chromatograph. This chromatograph has been shown
to pull the sample apart in about five (5) minutes and show readings in Methane,
Ethane, Propane, and Butane. Automatic sample size is selected based
on the detected gas units so that the chromatograph cannot experience column
saturation.
Further, the iBall Instruments Bloodhound™ can be ordered with the additional ability to
detect from 0 to 500 parts per million of Hydrogen Sulfide within the extracted
sample gases.
This iBall Bloodhound™ contains its own universal power
supply that can accept 90 to 280 VAC input with a frequency tolerance of 48 to
65 Hz. It is lightning, surge, and power spike hardened. If rig power fails, the
Bloodhound™ has its own internal battery system to keep it
alive for over 2 hours on a new battery.
The revolutionary integrated equipment hardened Brain Board control system allows the iBall
Instruments Bloodhound™ to monitor and control all vacuum
levels and flow rates using internal powerful state of the art flow meter,
vacuum pumps and pressure sensors. Water and contamination from outside sources
is minimized using internal chambering.
Ease of use is assured with only 4 buttons to learn. Alarms are automatic and
easy to read and show many things including low flow, high flow, and blocked sample line or some other internal fault.
Here is some documentation that will explain the iBall
Instruments Bloodhound™ Gas Detection System hardware in more detail.

CAVITATOR EXTRACTOR:
The typical sample extractor employed today use 120/240 volt AC induction motors
that are tied into the drilling rigs’ AC power source. The iBall Instruments
Cavitator uses low-voltage 12 or 24 volt Direct Current from an AC to DC power
supply. The standard supply is fully electrically isolated and the low-voltage
eliminates the shock hazard to rig personnel. This accomplishes two things that
make the system superior to any AC powered device. First, it permits the use of
lightweight low-voltage electrical cable to the Cavitator and allows the
use of lightweight DC motors. If using the Bloodhound system, power comes
from the side of the instrument, eliminating the need for a separate power
supply.

RIG POWER SOLUTIONS:
All equipment that is hooked up to drilling rig power is subject to the
problematic power that comes from it. Most power problems come in
sometimes wild voltage and frequency fluctuations. These fluctuations
cause equipment damage and problems. Placing a common UPS (Uninterruptible
Power System) on these computers and equipment is not a solution because the UPS
constantly switches over to battery and never gives it time to charge ending up
with a dead battery and a useless UPS. iBall Instruments has built a power
solution that allows for common computers and equipment to be immune to such
power problems.
What we have done is taken a very powerful AC inverter and modified it by adding
a critical timing and voltage monitoring circuit and connecting it to the
inverting electronics. This allows the inverter to now monitor the battery
voltage and AC power so that all power issues from dirty rig power simply can
not get to your equipment and will ignore rig power interruptions.

VACUUM CANISTER PROTECTION:
Guardian™ medical grade disposable
or reusable hard canisters feature rigid blue lids with an automatic water full
shutoff valve to help prevent contamination of regulators or equipment. Its 90°
adapters allow tubing to connect at right angles to help
prevent kinking and impeded sample flow. The locking lid allows for a tight seal
and leak free operation. Wall hangers and anti-tip mounts are available.
AIR DRILLING ATTACHMENT:
We have designed an air drilling attachment that allows
for consistent sampling of air drilling operations. This allows the user
to attach the Bloodhound system and allow it to draw
from the air drilling exhaust pipe with minimal particulate contamination.
Just connect this unit to a gate valve connected to the high pressure
exhaust. Below is a link to the engineering drawing and a 3D rendering that you can
manipulate with your computer. Supplies are easy to get from Lowes or any
other hardware store.

OVERVIEW: The iBall Instruments Bloodhound™ system
connects remotely to our secure servers and receives the high resolution
data. The server systems then take this data and generates
real time gas charts and rate of penetration
and other real time data. To view the real time data coming in from
one of our Bloodhound™ systems, you will need a secure username and
password. Further, our custom systems identify the IP address that
are used and verifies their location and logs all events for added
security.
If you are having trouble logging on, here is a troubleshooting
guide. Most likely it is a fire wall problem setting at your
location that is blocking ports 8080+.

All consumables, such as water, towels, paper, and tubing are free of charge.
Originally our business plan was to rent the Bloodhounds™ and not sell the units. This would permit us to constantly upgrade and maintain the Bloodhound™ equipment and software to its highest level and track the history of each unit and logging and correcting any problems along the way. Further, as new technology is introduced iBall Instruments LLC would have the ability to upgrade all the equipment to any new standards.
After receiving inquiries and orders from Europe, and receiving requests outside the Oklahoma-Texas area
it became obvious that it would not be practical to service rentals over great distances. Therefore, we changed our
original plan and began selling the Bloodhound™ system both nationally and
internationally.
Because of constant fluxuations in exchange rates and the cost of raw materials and sensors that go into the systems
that we build, we are unable to publish Bloodhound™ equipment prices.
Please give Myron Butler a call. He
would be very pleased to talk to you about your needs and provide you with a quote on the
Bloodhound™, our proprietary Cavitator
system and all the peripherals required to set the system up at a drill site.
